Celebrating God Through the Arts!

The overall mission and purpose of the Worship Ministry of First Baptist Church is to glorify God through music and to strengthen our church's ability to encounter Jesus Christ in worship, to evangelize the pre-Christian, disciple believers, minister to those in need, and fellowship together. Our goal is to be in tune with God's direction for our church, and to allow music to minister to this community of faith while also seeking creative and innovative ways to reach out to Frederick County.

We believe in diversity and, therefore, strive to develop a wide range of musical styles within our church body. From our excellent Adult Chancel Choir to our celebrative Praise and Worship Team and Praise Choir, we seek to praise God through a unique blend of classical, well-loved sacred choral anthems and new contemporary worship choruses. Praise Team and Choir

Praise and Worship Team and Praise Choir (Adults, audition with director) rehearses every Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. Our Praise Team leads us in music for our 11:15 a.m. Contemporary Worship Service. They also reach out to our community by singing special music like "God With Us," and they have led for several regional conferences and conventions. We are always seeking new folks as we enlarge this team of excellent Christian singers and instrumentalsists.

The Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir (Youth and adults, ages 16 and up) rehearses every Wednesday evening at 8:00 p.m. In addition to leading music for our Traditional Worship Service each Sunday at 8:30 a.m., our enthusiastic and dedicated choir members present several special musical events throughout the church year. In past years, the choir has presented the musicals "God with Us" and "God for Us" in the band shell at Baker Park; provided the musical backdrop for the live-nativity Christmas dramas "The Majesty of Christmas," "Gift of Heaven," and "The Story of Christmas"; and participated in several community mass-choir events. The music is beautiful, and the atmosphere is friendly and fun. We are always looking for new voices to join our family. Youth Worship Band

We have a Youth Praise Team that is designed to lead, develop and implement youth worship on Sunday mornings. Contact our Student Pastor, Richard Krauss for more details.
