What is Catalyst Student Ministries?

A catalyst is an ingredient that helps things change. Yeast is a great example of a catalyst--it makes bread rise, and it helps to turn grains into beer. (OOPS! Did I say beer on a church web site?) Beer may not be the best example, but it makes the point (and helps me keep your attention!).

We students at First Baptist believe that Jesus is our Catalyst. He is constantly changing us (if we let him) and helping us to become more like Him. As we become more like Him, we begin to change the world. That's why we call our student ministry Catalyst.

Our goal is nothing less than to allow Jesus to change us and then use us to change the world. If your life needs a change come check us out on Wednesday nights at 6:30 or Sunday mornings at 9:45.

Catalyst On Wednesday Nights

Catalyst is our Wednesday night activity for students. Led by our Student Pastor, Richard Krauss; Catalyst is a chance to renew ourselves spiritually in the middle of a busy week.  On Wednesdays we study the Bible, learn about the world around us and have some fun mixed in, while using a little recreation to help!  Our goal is to learn how we can better serve our Lord, Jesus Christ.  So, come join us on Wednesday nights for a taste of living water. We meet in the high school department. Catalyst is open to both Middle and High School students (grades 6-12)

Youth Department Mailing List

Our youth department  has an e-mailing list. Throughout the year,we send subscribers e-mails about  our department. These may include anything from information about events to  frequent updates, and prayer requests.Our goal is  to use this tool,so we can actively communicate with each other and spark new intrest!

Catalyst Calendar!

Novmeber 20-22 Join us for Youth Alive in Ocean City. With speakers such as Reggie Dabbs, and bands such as Reilly and Family Force Five Alive is better than ever. Forms are available here. Cost $110 plus meals.

 

On Sundays we have Sunday School at 9:45 a.m., where we fill your body with bagels and orange juice and better yet fill you with the Everlasting Word of God!  We are currently in a study entitled "66 Books."

We have Catalyst on Wednesdays at 6:30- 8 p.m.,where we learn how to use God's Holy Book to reach out in the community and "allow God to change us and the world."
