Welcome!
Hi! Thanks for checking out our website. We are really excited about what God is doing at our church, and we hope some of that comes through. You can find a lot of information about our church on this site, but if you really want to see what God is doing at First Baptist Church, you need to come check it out for yourself...continue.
The New Testament in Forty Days
Around the world 3.2 billion people have never heard Scripture in their heart language. Because 50% of the world's population cannot read, the only hope of reaching these people is with the spoken Word of God.
That's why the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship has partnered with Faith Comes By Hearing on the initiative, "You've Got the Time: A Journey of Biblical Faithfulness." As a cooperating church CBF is providing every teenager and adult in our church with a free audio New Testament Disk in MP3 format and every child a free Kidz Bible disk in MP3 format. During the forty-day period from Wednesday, February 17 to Easter Sunday, each person is encouraged to spend 28 minutes a day listening to the New Testament.
In addition, we will take a love offering to help provide a new translation of the Bible for one of the people groups to whom CBF field personnel work.
Let's join together and take the time to immerse ourselves in the Word of God while making it available to others as well.
New Women's Study
Women of all ages are invited to gather each week for 10 weeks to engage in an in-depth study of the book of Esther. Esther: It’s Tough Being A Woman is a study, led by Bible teacher and speaker, Beth Moore, that looks at the Old Testament story of Esther as a profile in courage. Join us in an in-depth and personal examination of this great story of threat and deliverance. Beth will peel back the layers of history and show how very contemporary and applicable the story of Esther is to our lives. Just as it was tough being a woman in Esther’s day, it’s tough today. The story contains treasures to aid us in our hurried, harried and pressured lives. Each week there will be a DVD featuring Beth Moore’s teaching, discussion and reflection on personal study from the week. Childcare provided. Please register by Sunday, March 7th by contacting Jill McWilliams. Cost: $16.00.
